For classrooms

Ready to teach on Monday.

Lesson notes, printable sets and sequencing activities — open licence, no attribution required, nothing to sign up for.

  • Read aloud for five minutes
  • Talk, colour, then retell it

In every lesson pack

  • A read-aloud script timed to five minutes
  • Six discussion questions with prompts
  • A colouring page and a cut-and-stick craft
  • Sequencing cards for retelling the story
  • Two extension activities for older pupils
  • A one-page background note for the teacher

How teachers use the hub

Most use a story as a fifteen-minute slot: read aloud, talk through two or three questions, then a colouring or craft activity while the conversation carries on. The sequencing cards work well for groups that need something to do with their hands.

Licence

Everything here can be printed, copied and adapted for classroom use without asking. You do not need to credit us, though it is nice when people do. You may not resell the materials.

Reading levels

The main text sits around a Year 2 reading level. Each story also has a shorter version for younger groups and an extended version with more detail for Years 5 and 6, so a mixed-age class can work from the same story at three levels.

The last page — and the next story is already being drawn.
The end, for now

A new story every week.

Free to read, free to print, and gentle enough for the littlest listeners.
