The First Easter
On a quiet Sunday morning, some women find the stone rolled away and the tomb empty.

A very sad Friday
Jesus was arrested, tried and put to death on a cross, and his friends were heartbroken. His body was laid in a tomb cut into rock, and a great round stone was rolled across the entrance.
Saturday was quiet and grey. His friends stayed indoors, frightened and grieving, not sure what to do next.

Sunday morning
Very early on Sunday, while it was still half dark, some of the women who had followed Jesus walked to the tomb to care for his body properly.
When they arrived, the great stone had been rolled aside and the tomb was empty. An angel told them Jesus was alive, and to go and tell the others.

Telling everyone
They ran back with the news. At first almost nobody believed them. Then Jesus met his friends himself, and ate with them, and talked with them.
Easter is the reason the sad Friday is called Good — because the story does not end there.
